Youth League
CLVC Youth League is perfect for young athletes who are new to volleyball or still building their skills. With no tryouts required, players of all levels are welcome! The program combines weekly team practices and games in a fun, encouraging environment that focuses on skill development, teamwork, and a love for the game. It's a great introduction to volleyball or a chance to grow before joining more competitive teams.
Ages & Experience
This program is open to athletes ages 8–16.
All skill levels are welcome—no prior volleyball experience is required to participate!
When
Youth League is offered twice a year—in the fall (August–September) and in the spring (April–June).
For athletes looking to continue their training during the winter, we recommend our Beyond Youth program.
Divisions
Players will be placed into one of two skill divisions: GREY (Beginner) or RED (Intermediate).
Placement is based on overall skill level, athleticism, and coachability—not just age—determined through the preseason assessment.
Practices
Program includes 6 weekly training session led by experienced coaches.
These sessions focus on developing fundamental volleyball skills and introducing key terms and game knowledge in a fun, supportive environment. Training is designed to help players build confidence and improve their overall understanding of the game.
Games
Program includes 6 weekly games, with each match played as a best 2-out-of-3 format.
Coaches will offer real-time, in-game feedback to help players improve ball control and reinforce fundamental skills.
Players will be encouraged to use all three contacts—pass, set, and attack—before sending the ball over the net. In addition, coaches will introduce basic defensive movements, court awareness, and effective communication to support overall game development.

Mandatory Assessments – April 13
All players are required to attend assessments on Monday, April 13 to help us create well-balanced and competitive teams. The session will include some general instruction along with a skills evaluation by our coaching staff.
Group A: 5:00–6:30 PM
Group B: 7:00–8:30 PM
Assessment group assignments can be found in your family calendar. You can access your family calendar in the app, or in the top left-hand corner of your screen.
Assessment times are subject to change, particularly for players in the 11–12 age group. In some cases, we may adjust a player's assessment time based on factors such as age, prior volleyball experience, or to help balance the skill levels between groups.
Any changes to your assigned time will be updated immediately in your family calendar. Final group assignments will be confirmed one week prior to the assessment date.
If your player is in the 11–12 age range, please plan to be available for either of the scheduled assessment sessions when you register.
We appreciate your flexibility as we work to create the best possible experience for all athletes!
